CAMON: UNE VILLAGE FLEURI

Yesterday I spent the day with Chantal touring a part of this region I had yet to see. It continues to astound me that there is so much beauty.

Our first stop was in Camon, about 40 km away. It has been designated as one of the most beautiful villages in France. It’s also known as a “village of flowers” which is a special designation awarded to villages throughout France who pay particular attention to beautifying with flowers. The local government in Camon funds planting of roses all over the city. Residents participate with their own contributions.

There is also a former abbey, now a Michelin-rated restaurant and chambre d’hôte. You can bet I will be back there one day for dinner..

Following a very nice lunch outdoors, we continued on our way to Montségur. See the next posting.
